Event Details

Learn to Pressure Can three products: Canned Chicken (boneless or on the bone), Chicken Broth (or stock), and Mixed Vegetables. Pressure canning is an effective and economical way to preserve fresh vegetables and meats for storage at room temperature (on the pantry shelf) for up to a year. Learn how to pressure can at home using safe preservation techniques from USDA approved recipes. This “hands-on” class will build your pressure canning skills, remove the mystery of pressure canning and is designed for novice canners as well as the most experienced. Each participant will leave with three jars of pressure canned products made by their own hand and ready to eat. To ensure a safe seal and proper labeling, all 3 products are available for pick-up the next day. As a BONUS, class participants may have their home pressure canner’s gauge tested with a record for future maintenance. Make a delicious chicken soup that is sure to provide comfort for this upcoming winter!

Bonus! - Pressure Canner Testing: Each participant may bring their home pressure canner for testing of accuracy and safety. The Pressure Canner Testing Service is free to class participants.
